The fires in Los Angeles are the most destructive in the history of California, according to Biden News

US President Joe Biden today called the current fires in the Los Angeles area the most destructive in the history of California, AFP reported.

Reuters reported that he had promised extensive federal aid to deal with the natural disaster.

“These are the most extensive and destructive fires in the history of California,” AFP quoted the US president as saying during a meeting at the White House dedicated to managing the fires.

According to Biden, the federal government will cover 100 percent of the costs of eliminating the consequences of the fires, such as debris removal or measures to protect life and property, for 180 days.

Large and fast-spreading fires have already destroyed more than 2,000 structures and claimed at least five lives, according to California authorities. According to them, the number of victims will probably increase. The flames are still not under control.

The fire has been ravaging parts of the metropolitan area from the Pacific coast to Pasadena inland since Tuesday. There are thousands of firefighters in the field who, even with the help of aircraft, fight several outbreaks at once. The authorities ordered the evacuation of almost 180,000 people, another 200,000 were given a warning.
