Bentley is officially preparing for the launch of its first all-electric model. The British manufacturer announces that this will be a new SUV.
Bentley is a brand known for using big engines, until recently the star of its range was the 6.0 liter W12 engine. But in the era of increasingly stringent emissions regulations, even luxury manufacturers must comply. The new Continental GT now uses a hybrid V8, as does the Flying Spur sedan, and in 2026 we’ll see the British brand’s first electric model.
The manufacturer has confirmed that it will launch its first-ever electric car, which was originally planned to be unveiled in 2025. Bentley recently confirmed that its first zero-emission model, which will be an SUV, will be officially launched in 2026.
The company spoke about the new launch date for the upcoming electric model in an online event, which was also attended by Frank-Steffen Walliser, the new CEO of Bentley.

Without going into details, Walliser said that we will be dealing with a completely new car, which the company refers to as an urban SUV. It seems that the future electric SUV will be more compact than the cars we are used to from the British manufacturer. The company wants to attract new, younger customers by launching a smaller, more compact car with practical values.
“Nearly four years to the day Bentley initially outlined its Beyond100 strategy, we are adapting to today’s economic, market and legislative environment to initiate a major transformation phase for tomorrow. The Beyond100+ becomes our guiding light as we extend our ambitions beyond 2030, while maintaining our aim for a decarbonised future, including offering only all-electric cars from 2035 and strengthening our credentials as Britain’s premier car maker for over a century and not only,” said Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors.
