Slovak motorcyclist Štefan Svitko is in 15th place after the first day of the two-day second stage of the 47th Dakar Rally.
In eight hours and eight minutes, he reached bivouac E at the 617 km finish line. He loses 26 minutes and four seconds to the current leader Daniel Sanders from Australia.
Svitko, together with the other riders, will spend the night without assistance and tomorrow he will continue in the second part of the 48 h CHRONO race.
He is still on the 15th place in the virtual standings. American defending champion Ricky Brabec is currently second, losing 2 minutes and 23 seconds to the leader.
Spain’s Carlos Sainz lost 40 minutes in the car category after his Ford overturned. Sébastien Loeb didn’t do well either, the 50-year-old Frenchman had problems with the fan on his vehicle.
