The new Porsche Cayenne has started testing. And it took the opportunity to show itself for the first time in photos. Not that you can see anything because, as per tradition, the mules are heavily camouflaged. However, the proportions and general style seem to be those that the large SUV from Cavallina has accustomed us over the course of 20 years and 3 generations.
But the news is another: the new Porsche Cayenne it won’t be just electricas anticipated some time ago. In fact, for it the company is focusing on three different types of engines: battery-powered, plug-in and purely thermal.
The story continues, in parallel
The current generation of Cayenne, updated a few months ago, will be further developed thanks to significant technological investments that will focus, among other things, on the engines, with particular attention to V8 Porschethus enabling it to meet future emissions requirements.

Restyling and improvements that will go hand in hand with the launch of the fourth generation Porsche Cayennedestined to be purely electric. In fact, the company, while admitting the difficulties of the period, does not intend to abandon battery-powered mobility. For the Cayenne, therefore, a completely “plug-in” future is envisaged, together with the other powertrains.
“Through 2030 and beyond, the SUV will be offered with three drive variants worldwide.”
it is written in the press release.
The technical basis for the new Cayenne will be the further updated PPE platform, with a 800 Volt.
One detail is missing: when will the new Porsche Cayenne arrive? A precise date has not been communicated. Testing has just begun and is scheduled to last a long time. It will therefore probably not be presented before the end of 2025.
