Although they were once only toys for adventurers and extreme sports enthusiasts, more and more users are now realizing the benefits of these small but powerful devices. And the first rumors about the DJI Action 5 introduce a new competitor into the arena.
The market is definitely dominated by GoPro, but there are certainly other options. Devices from DJI and Insta360 also offer attractive perspectives for users.
Now, the next generation device from one of these brands seems to be about to launch soon. That’s because the first rumors about the DJI Action 5 have hit the internet.
User OsitaLV from X (formerly Twitter) shared a number of images about the launch, including a photo of the DJI Action 5 that appears to be a press release. There’s also a simpler image of a device called the DJI Action 5 Pro.
What do the first rumors say about the DJI Action 5?
The latter has sparked a lot of interest online, marking the first information on a ‘Pro’ device for this range. It is also the only device that has some specs mentioned.
Around the lens is noted that the device has a maximum aperture of f/2.8, with a field of view of 155 degrees. We are also told that the device uses a 1/1.3-inch sensor.
This last part might generate some discussion, according to T3.com. Many users were hoping to find a one-inch sensor in this model, partly to justify the ‘Pro’ name. The same sensor size is used in the DJI Pocket 3, so a larger sensor would have seemed like a logical step for the company.
Another piece of information found in the FCC listing regarding this device suggests that it will also benefit from faster wired charging. This suggests a 5-9V charger at 3A.
Currently, there is no fixed date for the release of the devices. So for now, we’ll have to keep an eye out for announcements in the coming weeks and months.
