The first triple-screen foldable phone has finally arrived

HUAWEI has been teasing the arrival of the world’s first foldable phone with dual screens and triple screens for a long time now. But the day has finally come, as the company has just launched HUAWEI Mate XT.

The Mate XT has a dual-folding design with two hinges, as opposed to the single hinge of standard foldable-style phones. Fold. One of the hinges folds inward while the other folds outward, creating a sort of Z-shape when folded. The leftmost portion of the foldable screen acts as a smartphone display. 6.4 inches when the device is folded.

HUAWEI says the foldable is 12.8mm thick when folded, which means it is slightly thicker than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 (12,1 mm). This form factor doesn’t come with any significant compromises on battery life, however, as the HUAWEI Mate XT offers a whopping 5,600 mAh battery.

The triple-screen foldable phone also has a capable rear camera system, consisting of a variable aperture primary camera with 50 MP (1/1.56-inch, f/1.4 at f/4.0), a 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide lens, and a 12MP periscope camera 12 MP 5.5x.

For the time being, the smartphone is still an exclusive of the Chinese market and the tech giant has yet to give an answer as to whether we will ever see this revolutionary foldable in foreign markets.
