The ranking of the best-selling mobile phones for the third quarter of this year was published with a very interesting insight. The first places are clear, it is occupied, as always, by the iPhone, but after a very long time, the flag from Samsung has returned to the Top 10 best-selling phones for Q3. What phone is it and how much does it cost?
Samsung is back on top
The flagship that made it into the top ten best-selling phones in Q3 2024 is the entry-level Samsung Galaxy S24. For the South Korean manufacturer, it is a return to this ranking for this particular period after six long years, since the last phone that was among the best-selling devices on the market was the Galaxy S9 model.
Samsung is the biggest phone seller in the industry, selling more phones than Apple, but its Galaxy S flagships usually don’t make the Top 10. Sometimes they penetrate it, for example, in the first quarter when they are new, but in the overall accounting, although they generally sell very well, they often fall short. Samsung relies more on the lower and more affordable Galaxy A series when it comes to sales volumes.
Top selling phones for Q3 2024
The iPhone continues to rule
As in every quarter, the third quarter was dominated by iPhones. The best-seller was the basic iPhone 15, followed by the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the smaller iPhone 15 Pro rounds out the top three. The new, sixteenth generation is not yet on the list, as it went on sale only in the fourth quarter. The fourth Samsung Galaxy A15 5G became the best-selling Android phone.
The fourth Apple phone in the ranking is the iPhone 14 in eighth place, and the aforementioned Samsung Galaxy S24 closes the list of the top ten best-selling phones for Q3 2024. The supremacy of Apple and Samsung in this list is disturbed only by the Redmi 13C model in ninth place, whose predecessor (12C) was in exactly the same position last year.
Both the larger iPhone and the Galaxy A55 were disappointing
The iPhone 14 Plus did not make it to the top ten best-selling phones, which only proves that there really isn’t much interest in this specification, and neither is the mid-range model Galaxy A55 from Samsung. This one is a little disappointing, because its predecessor, the Galaxy A54, was placed in a nice seventh place last year, during the same period.
