SHASHLIK KEBAB RECIPE

Materials

For kebab:

500 grams of beef or lamb (preferably steak or entrecôte)

2 large size onions

2 cloves of garlic

1 tea glass of yoghurt

1 tea glass of olive oil

1 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of black pepper

1 teaspoon red pepper powder

1 teaspoon of thyme

1 teaspoon cumin

For service:

Lavash bread or rice

Grilled vegetables (tomatoes, peppers)

Yogurt or tzatziki

PREPARATION OF SHASHLIK KEBAB

Chop the meat into cubes, approximately the size of a walnut.

Make sure that the bottle is medium sized so that it can be easily passed through.

In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt, olive oil, grated onion and garlic.

Add spices (salt, black pepper, red pepper powder, thyme, cumin) and mix well.

Put the chopped meat into the marinade sauce and mix.

Cover the bowl with stretch film and leave it in the refrigerator for at least 4-6 hours, preferably overnight.

Take the marinated meat out of the fridge and drain the excess sauce.

Arrange on skewers spaced apart.

If you wish, you can also add tomato or pepper slices.

Cook the skewers on the grill, barbecue or in a cast iron skillet.

It is enough to cook it over medium heat until it is browned evenly on all sides.

To prevent the meat from drying out during cooking, you can apply a small amount of olive oil on it.

Place the skewers on a serving plate.

Serve with lavash bread, grilled vegetables and yoghurt.

If you want, you can enrich the presentation by sprinkling freshly chopped parsley on top.
