The flow of the Danube at the entrance to the country (Baziaş section) will be increasing in the first five days of this week, up to the value of 7400 mc/s, then decreasing to 7300 mc/s, being above the multi-annual average of October (3850 mc/s), according to the forecast published on Monday by the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA).

Downstream of the Iron Gates, flows will be, in the first part of the forecast interval (October 7 – 14), increasing at Gruia and on the Brăila – Tulcea sector and decreasing on the Calafat – Vadu Oii sector, and in the second part of interval, flows will generally be increasing on the Gruia – Girugiu sector and decreasing on the Oltenita – Tulcea sector.

The flow at the entrance to the country (Bazias section) was stationary in the last 24 hours, with a value of 6800 mc/s. Downstream of the Iron Gates, flows were decreasing on the Gruia – Giurgiu sector, stationary at Oltenita and increasing on the Călăraşi – Tulcea sector.

On the rivers, the daily average flows will generally be decreasing, except for the rivers in the south of the country where they will be relatively stationary.

Throughout the forecast interval, increases in levels and flows are possible on some small rivers, following the forecasted precipitation and propagation, states INHGA.
