From November 10 in the EU under the new procedure: Form plus 7 euros for the permit
From November 10 this year, the System of entry and exit into the member states of the European Union will begin to be used. which means that citizens will have to fill out the form electronically before crossing the border.
From the middle of next year, the procedure will be different – citizens will have to request a permit to stay in the EU.
Vladimir Vlaho from the National Association of Travel Agencies explained in an interview with RTS how it will look in practice.
Vlaho explains that due to the movement of migrants, Europe’s goal was to introduce a system for recording the entry and exit of passengers, so that they could control their borders.
This means that the traveler, before entering the European Union, must fill out a form on the Internet. The passenger provides only a few basic data, and Vlaho notes that there is no need to do any research to fill out the form.
“When you fill it out, you show up at the border with your passport, probably the systems are adjusted and you enter the European Union in the most normal way,” said Vlaho.
Filling out the form
The form is filled out exclusively electronically, and our citizens can choose which of the European Union member languages to fill it in.
Filling out that form, or entering the application, can be done by a third party on behalf of anyone, it can be a private person, parent, neighbor, friend, so it doesn’t have to be an agency.
“If the traveler travels through an agency, we will certainly provide a service to help fill out those forms, with the exception that in that case the traveler must authorize anyone who does it on his behalf,” said Vlaho.
In the first phase, from November 10, there will be no refusal of passengers, but such a possibility has been announced for the second phase, which will take place in the middle of next year. Then, in addition to the EU members, this system will be applied by Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein.
Three years or until the passport expires
Then the travelers will ask for a permit to stay in the EU, which will cost seven euros and be valid for three years.
In case the passport expires before three years, the permit automatically ceases to be valid the moment the passport ceases to be valid. When you get a new passport, you apply for a permit again, again for three years.
When asked who could be denied a license, Vlado says that they can be denied to people who are marked as criminals in the European Union system, as someone who deals with some things outside the law, or as someone who may not have paid a traffic fine.
The permit will be obtained within a few minutes, except in cases where there is some dilemma, then the permit can be waited for up to four days.
“Those who really have a problem with the law in the EU records, they can wait up to 30 days,” said Vlaho.
The application will be released on October 6th, but will not be in use until November 10th.
