The searches carried out at the headquarters of CS Rapid did not remain without an echo. Prosecutors from the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) ordered the detention of Bogdan Vasiliu for 24 hours.
He was indicted for committing the crimes of bribery and abuse of office while holding the position of general manager of the club. The measure targets two other people involved in the case: a transport manager, respectively a businessman.

Concretely, Vasiliu allegedly demanded the sum of 200,000 euros from the businessman, with the aim of facilitating the awarding of lease contracts for the canteen and restaurant belonging to CS RAPID, receiving 30,000 euros in his personal accounts and 348,103 lei – the equivalent of approximately 70,000 of euros – through the accounts of the company he controlled.
The difference of 100,000 euros was to be offered during the course of the meal service contracts, respectively 10,000 euros each month, until this amount is paid. The former general director of CS Rapid would also have collected a percentage of 33% of the profit obtained by the company that was to carry out the contract with the club, as well as the payment of “salaries” for the other defendant, Radu Marian-Florin (at date of the facts transport manager within CS Rapid), a close relative of Vasiliu, in the amount of 7,000 lei, respectively 3,500 lei monthly, for the same period.
With the help of the latter, sums of money were settled from CS Rapid by drawing up fictitious monthly statements (time attendance) according to which the company served the athletes a much larger number of portions than the real one. The three defendants will be presented to the Bucharest Court on Friday, October 25, with a proposal for preventive arrest for 30 days.
