The former MotoGP got a special version of the Suzuki motorcycle

The Suzuki GSX-8R motorcycle has received a limited edition called Capirossi, but no one can get their hands on it except the former MotoGP rider.

Capirossi was one of several riders to wear Suzuki’s famous bright blue livery during the Japanese brand’s sponsorship with Rizla in the mid-2000s. And although he never won a MotoGP race for Suzuki, the current representative of the Dorne Racing Directorate was a key member of Suzuki from 2008 to 2010, riding the GSV-R bike.

The 82 hp GSX-8R model, which has a liquid-cooled 776 cc parallel twin engine and a tubular steel chassis, is dedicated to Capirossi as an ultra-limited edition of only 5 examples.

“I tried it for the first time here on the square”Kapirosi told Gaceta delo Sport at Castello Square in Turin, Italy. “He is beautiful, very agile and fast.”

This is not the first time that an exclusive motorcycle has been made for Kapirosias his limited edition 2003 Ducati GP3, which was the first Ducati MotoGP bike, sold for a whopping €240,000 at an auction in Silverstone last month.

A bike that will be seen more and more on the racing scene in the coming years, the GSX-8R first made its racing debut in the MotoAmerica Championship earlier this year as part of the Twins Cup Series. The bike has already been successful, winning four times so far in 2024.
