The former presenter of Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson, forced to change his lifestyle after the operation

Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, 64, underwent heart surgery this month after a “sudden deterioration” in his health, he said, quoted by Sky News.

Jeremy Clarkson said his doctor told him to reduce his physical activity after he recently underwent heart surgery. The BAFTA-winning British presenter revealed earlier this month that he had two stents – which improve blood flow to the heart – fitted after a “sudden deterioration” in his health.

On Friday, Clarkson said she didn’t find the operation scary, but “what’s scary is what came after – the advice about how I should live my life from now on.”

The former Top Gear presenter said he was “not allowed to have fun anymore” and that his doctor had told him that “a lot” of the physical work he does “will have to go away”. Clarkson said his doctor suggested he replace it with golf.

“If I didn’t work, I’d be sitting at home all day rotting,” he said, before adding: “The biggest problem is the diet though.”

“To lower my alarmingly high cholesterol, I have to completely give up everything I like to eat,” Clarkson said. “Ham, sausages, beef, lamb, pork, butter, crisps, cow’s milk, Cadbury bars with fruit and nuts,” he added.

The presenter said he will “keep on” working out but will change his diet – adding that he knows his lifestyle “won’t see him live to 112”. Clarkson said she “wants to live a little longer” after the operation and wants to see her “grandkids grow up”.
