Another day, another leak about an upcoming iPhone model. This time it’s insider Majin Bu, who reports that the fourth-generation iPhone SE smartphone, expected later this year, will launch under a surprising name. According to Bu, these devices would be available under the name iPhone 16E, suggesting belonging to Apple’s current range of phones.
And Majin Bu could be considered a relatively credible source, having in his “portfolio” several leaks that turned out to be true, such as revealing Desert Titanium color for iPhone 16 Pro. On the other hand, Bu suggested, over time, also things that did not come true.
Based on what my source has reported, it seems that the new iPhone that Apple will unveil in 2025 will not be called iPhone SE4, but iPhone 16E. It should feature a design similar to the iPhone 14, with an OLED display and an action button. The available colors will be white and… pic.twitter.com/Vm8DCh1Xo0

A modern, welcome look
Everyone expects this iPhone SE 4, or iPhone 16E as Majin Bu describes it, to represent one of the most significant upgrades to this product range from Apple. The phone would abandon the outdated look characteristic of the iPhone 8 generation (with very thick edges, Home button and small LCD screen) in favor of a contemporary design, based on that of the iPhone 14 generation. It will keep the characteristic “bang” (notch) iPhone models from a few years ago, as a way to differentiate this entry-level model from the flagship iPhone 16 range, which uses Dynamic Island.
The display used by this iPhone 16E would be based on an OLED panel (another huge difference from the modest LCD of previous iPhone SE generations), and the new budget phone from Apple would be equipped with an Action Button ( whose functions can be customized by the user), at the expense of the old switch that set the sound to silent.
According to Majin Bu, the iPhone 16E would be available in two color variants: white and black.
