The Galaxy A56 5G could have faster charging speeds than the Galaxy S25

An important change is foreshadowed in the world of midrange smartphones, with the appearance of the first concrete information about the future Samsung Galaxy A56 5G.

After years of charging speed being stuck at 25W for the Galaxy A series, the South Korean company looks set to make a major leap that will surely please fans.

Certification confirming progress

According to documents recently discovered in the database of China’s 3C certification authority, the SM-A5660 model (the codename of the Galaxy A56 5G) will support 45W fast charging.

This information, verified by several credible sources, is a first for the Galaxy A series, which has not received a charging speed update since four years ago.

Top specs for a midrange phone

In addition to the substantial improvement in charging speed, the upcoming phone will be equipped with the Exynos 1580 processor, will have 8GB of RAM and will run Android 15 with the One UI 7.0 interface.

The camera system includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, accompanied by a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 5-megapixel macro camera. For selfie lovers, the phone will have a 12-megapixel sensor.

An unusual situation

Interestingly, this improvement comes at a time when even the base model of the Galaxy S25 series will stick to 25W charging.

Thus, for prima given, an A-series model will offer a higher charging speed than a flagship S-series model.

However, the actual charging time could be comparable due to the difference in battery capacity.

Industry sources suggest that the new model would be launched in March or April 2025, at an estimated price of between 450 and 500 euros.
