Samsung fans who were expecting a more generous battery for the long-awaited Galaxy S25 Ultra may be in for a nasty surprise. Or at least that’s what the rumor mill is saying.
Ice Universe, the tireless platform X user who comes up with all kinds of leaks, has released another rumor. If we are to believe him, the battery of the Galaxy S25 Ultra will also have 5,000 mAh. Additionally, charging speeds will also be identical to those found on other Galaxy Ultra devices. We cannot, at least not yet, have both a thin device and a large battery. In addition, the new model will have the same charging speed: 45W. If rivals come to the market with phones with over 100W charging, Samsung continues to lag behind them.
Speaking of thinness: Ice Universe also says that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be 8.4mm thick. So where to fit a more generous battery? Especially if the South Korean giant is thinking of not giving up on the great internal components and the set of cameras that remain the favorites of many smartphone users.
Even if the long-awaited Galaxy S25 Ultra came with a 5,000 mAh battery instead of a larger one, it could offer much better battery life. That’s because the phone is expected to pack the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset variant, which doesn’t consume as much power. To this would be added a newer generation of OLED screens that will also be able to substantially reduce consumption.
