The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s camera is thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro Max

Space tipster @Ice Universe has access to almost everywhere every time and now based on his new sources, he reveals that the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a significantly thicker rear camera bump compared to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max’s camera module sticks out 4.3 millimeterswhile the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be thinner at 2.4 millimeters. Of course this is due to the fact that the iPhone has a rear camera area that houses three different lenses and these are attached above the main frame of the phone. In contrast, on the S25 Ultra the set of lenses is attached directly from the body of the phone, just like with the S24 Ultra, hence the specific height difference.

Beyond the thickness of the camera, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to offer several other improvements in its design, and the best is that the new device will be significantly lighter than its predecessor, weighing 219 grams compared to the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 233 grams. That wouldn’t make it as light as the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which weighs 227 grams, but the difference between them will be infinitesimal this time.

As for the camera hardware itself, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is said to have only one upgrade: an improved ultra-wide camera. Does that sound familiar? Yes, Apple also only upgraded the ultra-wide camera this year with the 16 Pro and Pro Max, so Samsung isn’t going to be left behind.

We fully expect to discover the new additions to the Galaxy S25 series next January 2025.
