The Gemini app will now have access to new information in real time

Google has been a partner of for years The Associated Press to bring up-to-date information to the tech giant’s search engine. The two parties are now expanding their collaboration to boost the Gemini app.

Google announced in a blog post that it is expanding its partnership with the news agency to provide a “real-time information feed” to the Gemini app. In the future, Gemini will then be able to refer to AP news when inquiring about current events.

Speaking about the partnership, Kristin Heitmann, AP Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, said:

AP and Google’s long-standing relationship is built on collaboration to deliver timely and accurate news and information to global audiences. We are pleased that Google recognizes the value of AP journalism, and our commitment to impartial reporting, in developing its generative artificial intelligence products.

Associated Press isn’t the only publication partnering with Google. The company claims to have had partnership with “news organizations of all sizes in countries around the world for more than two decades.”
