The general secretary of Junts refuses to celebrate a Hispanic identity that made its way “through genocide”

The general secretary of Junts per Catalunya (JxCat), Jordi Turull, stated this Saturday that On October 12 there is “nothing to celebrate”since the concept of Hispanicity “has made its way and has been maintained in so many places through genocide, imposition and/or repression.”

“Today, an intense day. Meetings and gatherings starting in Cabrera de Mar, continuing in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda and ending in the afternoon in Tortosa in various events organized by JxCat,” explained Turull in a message published on the social network the one who explains his agenda today in the provinces of Barcelona and Tarragona.

For Turull, on October 12 there is “nothing to celebrate and much to claim and denounce about a ‘Hispanidad’ that It has made its way and has been maintained in so many places by the blow of genocideimposition and/or repression”.

Yesterday, Friday, the president of JxCat, Laura Borrasalready reproached the Catalan president, Salvador Illa, for his attendance at the commemoration events of the National Day of October 12 in Madrid, because, as he said, “it is an exaltation of colonization.”
