The German minister is worried: Russia produces as many weapons in three months as Europe does in a year

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Europe is facing a long-term threat and that the conflict in Ukraine is “no longer a regional war”.

– Russian President Vladimir Putin has long ago completely switched to a war economy. Russia produces weapons and ammunition in three months as much as the entire European Union in a year – said Pistorius at a meeting organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Arnsberg in the German federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, “Tageschau” reports.

Pistorius recalled that at the end of October, Putin spoke about a “serious, irreconcilable fight for a new world order”.

The German minister stated that Putin “already sees himself as the winner of the war against Ukraine”. At the same time, he added, the hybrid war with disinformation and fake news is “in full swing”.

– Our security is fragile. Germany must accelerate and invest more in its ability to fight – warned Pistorius.
