- Google’s search engine surprised users with a change in dark mode
- Search results are displayed in orange for some reason
- People do not agree on the cause, there is rather no reliable solution
The Google search engine has undergone significant changes in recent months, especially in connection with artificial intelligence. However, AI-powered search summaries have not yet arrived in the Czech Republic, so our imaginary train is still running on the old tracks. However, it could happen soon to change something that we have been used to for years.
Website headlines in Google search results se are drawn in blue. If we have already visited them, they will turn purple so we can easily distinguish them. The dark theme, which many users prefer, also uses the same colors. Inside the mobile interface (both in the native application and in the Chrome browser), the so-called “dark mode” can be relatively significantly different from its current form.
Google is apparently testing coloring the search results orange. Many users of the social network Reddit are convinced that the color adapts to the theme of the smartphone, or even desktop Chrome or Gmail. However, others counter by saying that they do not have any service or system interface colored orange.
This is probably an experiment by which Google is trying to replace the blue color in dark mode with shade more pleasant to look at. However, the reaction from the community is mixed and many users are looking for a way to revert to the old settings.
“I typed gmail.com into Chrome search, hit 3 dots and selected desktop mode. Then I clicked on the browser version on the Gmail page. I then went into settings, switched to a light theme, and I can’t remember if I had to click save, but when I reloaded the google search, it was fixed.” writes one of the affected users on Reddit. However, there is no specific reliable solution.
It is not yet clear whether Google will decide on any wider expansion of orange search results.
