The government will give 28 billion for e-charging stations, the final call for tenders has been published

The aim of the initial tender is to speed up the energy transition and build the infrastructure necessary for emission-free transport. Businesses with an electric charging station operator’s license can obtain additional funds through the call for tenders.

Applicants must commit to the establishment of at least one e-charging station in any of the settlements in districts with fewer charging points.

A technical call will be used to select this locality, for which you can apply in the first round between October 14 and 21, 2024.

Per business a minimum of HUF 100 million and a maximum of HUF 4 billion can be obtainedmaximum by default As a discounted loan with a term of 15 years, with at least 10 percent equity must be supplemented. Large companies can receive 35 percent of eligible costs, medium-sized enterprises 55 percent, and micro and small enterprises 65 percent as state contributions.

In addition to the discount loan non-refundable support can be given, for example, in the case if the planned filling station will be established in the preferred district listed in the call for proposals, or will be equipped with electricity storage and/or a renewable electricity generation unit. All charging points of charging stations built or expanded with support must be capable of intelligent charging. It is also mandatory to provide the possibility of electronic payment.

The loan agreements must be concluded by the end of 2025 at the latest, the deadline for the physical completion of projects according to the main rule is three years from the conclusion of the contract. According to the ministry, the investments will bring us closer to national coverage, thus making clean and quiet green cars more convenient to use and more attractive.

It is also due to the rise of electric cars that, compared to the previous continuous growth, according to preliminary data, the emission of greenhouse gases in domestic traffic decreased by 11 percent last year.

With the new program, the government will double the grant funds that can be used for the greening of the sector and the spread of electromobility. Since the beginning of February, businesses have been able to apply for non-refundable subsidies for the purchase of a purely electric passenger car, van or minibus. The HUF 30 billion budget can cover up to HUF 4 million of the costs of purchasing a vehicle, depending on the capacity of the battery.

So far, the companies have requested a total of HUF 17.7 billion for the purchase of nearly 4,600 cars.

Together with the new tender, the various government programs already encourage Hungarian families and businesses to produce and store green energy to a total of HUF 260 billion.
