The grave of the deceased singer Josef Laufer was found half a year later News

The late singer Josef Laufer (†84), best known for his song “Goodbye, love, I’m moving on”, has finally found his final resting place. According to information from the newspaper Aha! he was buried together with his wife Irena Greifová (†83), who was a recognized costume designer. The funeral of both parents was arranged by their daughter Ester (55). Although it seems that both husband and wife were buried in the same place, none of their friends and relatives know where the grave is located. Ester refused to share this information with anyone, which causes great indignation among friends and family.

Long wait for the funeral

Irena Greifová died already two years ago, specifically on December 23, and since then it has not been clear where her body rests. According to sources close to the Laufer family, Irena and Josef were laid to rest this month. Although this is important information for family and friends, Ester decided to keep it a secret. None of their loved ones have the opportunity to visit the grave, lay flowers or light a candle in memory of the famous married couple.

Family disputes and silence

Esther’s decision to keep the burial location a secret caused tension not only among friends but also in the family. Cameraman Karel Greif (60), son of Irena Greifová from her first relationship, does not hide his indignation. Ester does not communicate with him at all and did not even invite him to his own mother’s funeral, let alone to the funeral of Josef Laufer, who was his stepfather. “I still don’t know where my mom is. My stepsister thinks I have no right to. It’s scary,” said Karel Greif. He added that if Ester had indeed buried both parents together, he would probably be the last person she would tell this information to.

Friends in uncertainty

Oldřich Lichtenberg (61), owner of the Broadway Theater, where Josef Laufer worked, expressed a similar opinion. He too has no information about the singer’s final resting place. “No one told me anything. I’m supposed to see Ester before Christmas, so hopefully I’ll find out something,” hopes Lichtenberg.

The mystery surrounding Esther

Ester Laufer is known for her closedness and secrecy. In the past, she had already withheld information about her father’s health, who had spent four years in artificial sleep. According to the singer Jarmila Gerlová (81), who together with Vlasta Kahovcová (80) started her career with Josef Laufer, this behavior was very strange. “We wanted to go see Pepa, but Ester didn’t tell us where she was. She claimed that crowds of people would start streaming after him. That was really strange,” said Gerlová.

Deserved respect

Friends and colleagues of Josef Laufer and Irena Greifová agree that both spouses deserve people to visit their graves and pay their respects. “Pepa and Irena would certainly like people to visit their grave. “None of us really understand Ester,” concluded Gerlová.

As Christmas approaches, friends and family are still hoping to find out where the famous singer and his wife have been laid to rest. For now, however, Ester remains adamant and refuses to share any information.
