The guidelines have changed: this is what the secure password should look like –

The US National Institute of Standards and Technology believes that the current protocol no longer provides enough protection.

The spread of Internet services has brought many positive changes to our daily lives, but at the same time, it has also given way to online fraud. In order to protect our data, experts often emphasize the use of complex passwords – their general recommendations include the use of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and special characters, as well as changing the password regularly.

However, the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) believes that the complex requirements just listed have led to many people reusing passwords, resulting in a decrease in security. As a result, NIST has now developed new guidelines.

According to the latest recommendation of the institute, it is advisable to use a series of long, easy-to-remember words as a password, which the user can remember without having to write them down or store them.

If someone remembers a 12-character, complicated and complex combination without any problems, the previous recommendations still stand, but reusing passwords is not recommended in this case either. Of course, using a password manager solves this, you don’t have to remember anything, and you can use randomly generated lines of code everywhere.
