BarcelonaThe councilor of the CUP in Sant Cugat del Vallès Ariadna Sierra denounced this Monday during the public hearing of the municipal plenum the “harassment” and “sexist comments” she is suffering from the militant of the Joventuts Nacionalistas de Catalunya (JNC) of Sant Cugat Josep Arcas. The edil cupaire revealed that since he entered the City Council a year and a half ago, he has suffered all kinds of attacks by Arcas, such as the manipulation and dissemination of his images on the networks, urging to put on “a burqa” and say that the spokesperson of the formation, Marco Simarro, does not “give him permission to speak”.
He also recalled that, during a municipal meeting, the member of the JNC brought them condoms to “prevent them from reproducing”, and left two boxes of them on the table. In fact, Sierra revealed that Arcas went to a space where the councilor was working as a volunteer to bring her more condoms, although her colleagues avoided it. “He asked me through networks, with a private message, as he has done many other times, how many national policemen I had slept with”, added the councilwoman at the same plenary session.
Sierra challenged Junts to take action against Arcas: “He campaigns for you or acts as a proxy in the elections”, and asked the JNC if these actions “represent them”. Following the complaint, the mayor, Josep Maria Vallès, limited himself to saying that he was “taking note”. This same Tuesday, however, the organizing secretary of the JNC, Ariadna Urroz, has advanced that she has transferred the reported actions to the internal disciplinary body and has made it clear that these facts do not represent her organization. “The JNC does not act like this”, he replied in the same tweet.
