For now, experts from the National Meteorological Administration (ANM) announce radical changes in the weather, and the weather forecast indicates an autumn like we haven’t had in a long time in Romania, with rain and normal temperatures for this time of year.

According to meteorologists, until tomorrow at 10:00 a.m., it will temporarily rain in most of the country, and at night the area of ​​rain will narrow to the east and northeast of the territory.

Colder and rainy weather in September

There will be mostly showers, and in short periods of time or through accumulation, the amounts of water will be locally 10…20 l/m2 and isolated over 30…40 l/m2.

Elena Mateescu, the president of the National Meteorological Administration, explained that the weather will continue to cool, and the rains, although they will decrease tomorrow, will return at the weekend.

“From a thermal point of view, we are already noticing a significant change in the weather, a sudden drop in temperatures. Today at most 11…20 degrees Celsius, on Thursday a slight increase in the south of Oltenia and Muntenia, up to 30 degrees, while in the north of Moldova or in the east of Transylvania we are talking about temperatures of 20…21 degrees.

On Saturday, the weather will cool down significantly, especially in the intra-Carpathian regions where we are talking about values, at the maximum level, of only 12…13 degrees, while only in Dobrogea we will record 27 degrees.

Including in the Capital, we will have a maximum of 23…24 degrees on Saturday, but the minimum will only reach 11…12 degrees”, explained Elena Mateescu at Antenna 3 CNN.

It snows in October

According to the weather forecast ANMaround October 21, the first snowfalls of this season will begin. Obviously, only in mountainous areas, at high altitudes. Otherwise, we will have rains, but also low temperatures, meteorologists say.

“On October 17, 18 and 19, the sky will be partly cloudy, with minimum temperatures of 5 degrees Celsius and maximums that will reach 11-13 degrees Celsius. On October 20, the rains will begin, and also during that period the first negative temperatures of -1 degree Celsius will be recorded.

In the mountains, the first snowfalls are announced for October 21 and October 22, and temperatures will drop to -2 degrees Celsius,” according to meteorologists.
