In several places in Slovakia, high temperatures should also be expected on Sunday (July 28). Stronger winds may also occur. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) issued warnings of the first and second degree. He informs about it on his website.

Despite the high temperature, this heat wave is more tolerable than the previous ones, which were stifling. The air is dry, and it is also quite windy in the west.

Suffocating only rarely

At the same time, it is sunny throughout the territory of Slovakia.

“The pressure center centered over Romania ensured only a minimum of cloud cover in the entire Carpathian region, so it’s sunny everywhere. At the same time, the inflow of warm tropical air from the southwest intensified in our area along the edge of this height,” noted the institute.

As he added, the temperature at several stations in the south-west of Slovakia reached 35 degrees Celsius. According to SHMÚ, the water vapor pressure values ​​are mostly at the level of 12 to 16 hectopascals on Saturday.

“Just in the extreme southwest, it’s 18 to 19, so it’s exceptionally stuffy in this part of the territory,” he added.

The second level warning against high temperatures applies to almost the entire Košice and Nitra region and in several districts of the Banskobystrické region.

Wind warnings

Also for the districts of Dunajská Streda, Galanta, Vranov nad Topľou and Humenné. Temperatures there can sometimes reach 35 to 36 degrees Celsius.

In the course of tomorrow, even temperatures in the warmest areas will reach values ​​of up to +37 °C. Among the areas where it should be the warmest will be the area around Dudiniec or Štúrova.

The first level of warning was issued by meteorologists in most districts of the Bratislava region. Likewise for several districts of the Prešov region.

SHMÚ also drew attention to Sunday’s wind in the entire Bratislava, Košice, Nitra and Trnava regions.

Also in several districts of the Trenčianske and Banskobystrica regions and in the districts of Humenné, Poprad, Prešov and Vranov nad Topľou. He therefore issued a level one wind warning.
