Tomorrow, the president of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca will visit the Pharmacy of the Incurables, in the hospital complex in the heart of Naples which has been closed for 5 years after part of the flooring collapsed. The call for tenders for the redevelopment works of the hospital is also underway.

There are just a few days left until the reopening of the historic one Pharmacy for the Incurablea real museum that belongs to hospital complex of Santa Maria del Popolo degli Incurabiliin the heart of Naples, closed for five years now, after a collapse affected part of the flooring in April 2019. Well, the historic pharmacy will reopen on November 30th and will once again be accessible to the public.
Tomorrow morning, Thursday 21 November, the president of the Campania regional council, Vincenzo De Lucawill visit the Pharmacy of the Incurables. Subsequently, in the Hall of the Order of the Poor Clare Capuchin Nuns, in via Luciano Armanni, De Luca will illustrate the redevelopment project of the hospital complex of the Incurables, the subject of the tender which will give new life to the complex, which on the one hand will remain a socio-health structure and on the other it will be transformed into a museum and cultural centre.
What the new hospital for incurables in Naples will be like
The plan to give new life to the Incurables complex has been ready for over a year now and, as mentioned, the tender to implement the project will soon be opened, of which the reopening of the historic Pharmacy represents a first step. The new hospital will have 90 beds for hospitalizations as well as a museum space. In this case, here is what the renovation works will affect:

- the creation of a Healthcare Area (approximately 16,700 m2) divided into a Community Home, Community Hospital, Rehabilitation Hospital, Long-Term Care, Area for Rehabilitation Activities, Alzheimer’s Day Center, Diagnostic Imaging, Specialist Medical Clinics, Laboratory Medicine and Blood Collection Area , General support areas;
- the creation of a Museum and Exhibition Area (13,500 m2) divided into the Museum of Health Arts and History of Medicine, Historic Pharmacy, Library/Digital Innovation Hub, Concert and Conference Hall (Church of SM del Popolo degli Incurabili), external exhibition spaces on the terraces, bar and restaurant;
- the recovery and renovation of existing residential units (1,400 m2)
