The honor went to a slalom skier and a para-table tennis player. Slovak Olympians took a solemn oath in the hands of the president – Paris 2024 Olympics – Summer Olympics

On Tuesday, in the garden of the Presidential Palace in Bratislava, water slalom skier Jakub Grigar and para-table tennis representative Alena Kánová took a solemn oath in the hands of the President of the Slovak Republic, Petr Pellegrini, on behalf of the entire Olympic and Paralympic expedition.

In order XXXIII. the Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11 in Paris and will feature a total of 28 Slovak athletes, XVII. the Paralympics are on the program from August 28 to September 8.

Grigar and Kánová made a solemn promise to those present. On behalf of the entire expeditions, they pledged to respect and adhere to the Olympic Charter, the ethical rules and principles governing the games, to compete according to the rules and without doping and in a true sportsmanship spirit. At the same time, they promised an exemplary representation of the Slovak Republic.

The President of the Slovak Republic subsequently accepted a promise and a gift from both expeditions, praised the determination of the athletes and stated that their victory and life’s success is the very participation in the biggest sports holiday.

At the same time, Pellegrini wished all Olympians and Paralympians much success and happiness in Paris.
