The Hungarian government has spoken: the Office for the Protection of the Constitution has repeatedly interrogated the woman who made headlines with pagers that blew up members of Hezbollah

Taiwanese beeper manufacturer Gold Apollo said on Wednesday that the model of the beepers used in the Lebanon bombings was manufactured by BAC Consulting. They added that they only licensed their brand to the company and did not participate in the production of the devices.

Speaking to NBC News earlier this week, Cristiana Barsony-Arcidiacono, the 49-year-old Italian-Hungarian CEO and owner of BAC Consulting, denied that she made the tweets. “I’m just the middleman,” he said.

The international press office of the Hungarian government informed in a statement on Saturday that the secret services have been continuing the investigation since Wednesday and that Barsony-Arcidiacono has been interrogated several times. The Office for the Protection of the Constitution (AH) confirmed the government’s previous claim that

the beeping devices used in the explosions were never in Hungary.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s government also announced earlier that BAC Consulting “is a commercial intermediary company that has no production or other premises in Hungary”.

Pagers and transceivers used by Hezbollah members were blown up in the two-day series of attacks, which were carried out on Tuesday and Wednesday. The death toll from the attacks rose to 39 and more than 3,000 were injured.
