According to Google, Tevva, which develops hydrogen-powered trucks, has finally closed. The British company is over its long death throes. They had payment difficulties for the first time at the beginning of the year, which is why they tried to find an investor. It seemed to be able to find a solution to the situation in the person of ElectraMeccanica of Canada. However, the negotiations stalled. Later, California-based XoS Trucks came into the picture.

Although the company still had excellent prospects last year. Last year, with their two-axle, rigid chassis model, they obtained all the necessary type certificates in order to be able to market not only in Great Britain, but also in the European Union and non-EU European countries.

The type offered by them has a total weight of 7.5 tons and a load capacity of almost three tons. It was made with a battery pack with a capacity of 105 kWh and could travel a maximum of 227 kilometers with one charge. And in the second half of 2023, a version equipped with a hydrogen cell range extender was presented, with which you can go up to 570 kilometers on a single charge. The company was therefore making good progress along the development path and they were close to becoming a major mechanic on the alternative drive truck market.

As is often the case, the company left behind a number of unfulfilled orders. Among them is the British post office, or Royal Mail, which is certainly waiting in vain for electric trucks with hydrogen cell range extenders. According to some calculations, Tevva had orders for a total of a thousand trucks, which it is expected that no one will be able to manufacture.

Volta Trucks, a manufacturer of medium-duty electric trucks, suffered a similar fate. However, the company successfully found investors, so series production was able to resume recently.
