A little over a year has passed since the presentation of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 Nthe high-performance version of the electric hatchback. But in Korea it’s already time for a slight restyling which introduces new technological systems among the equipment.
The slight facelift, in fact, does not include significant stylistic changes, but several software refinements and mechanics to offer an even more engaging ride. Here are the details.
Drifting even more
The first protagonist of this update of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is the new N Drift Optimizeror the system that helps the sports car to go sideways which can now be configured by choosing up to 10 levels of different assistance.
If you go up to level 10 (Pro mode), the electric becomes a real auto da drifting rear-wheel drive, minimizing intervention from the stability control system, so the driver can “drift more freely.” In addition, the system is now better able to detect suitable drift conditions, which Hyundai assumes only occur on a racetrack.
But that’s not all. Among the new features there is also a function called Downshift Memoryalways intended for track use and which “allows the vehicle to memorise the set gear and change it only when it reaches the engine revs permitted for downshifting”.
In addition to this, finally, the artificial engine sound is now activated automatically when the function is activated. launch controlonce again simulating the sound of a supercharged 2.0-litre petrol engine, such as the one featured in the Elantra N not sold on our market.
Now you can see more
Moving on to the most useful everyday improvements, the Ioniq 5 N restyling, for the moment only for South Korea, we remind you, is now equipped with automatic high beams with anti-dazzle function, the system Walk-Away Lock which automatically locks the doors when the driver leaves the car and the Vehicle to Load (V2L) system, which allows the energy stored in the battery to be used to power external devices.
It is not yet clear when the car will arrive on the European and world markets and at what price.
