Kazakh hockey player Assanali Sarkenov had to miss Tuesday’s B-group duel at the Under-20 World Cup against Switzerland.

The 18-year-old attacker received a one-game suspension for a tackle on František Dej in Monday’s match against Slovakia (4:5 pp).
The incident occurred in the 16th minute of the third period. Sarkenov was suspended for 5 minutes and until the end of the match for a small ball.
“The Disciplinary Committee decided that the personal penalty on the ice was correct and that an additional penalty was necessary.
Krosček in such a situation can lead to serious injuries,” the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) reported on its official website.
Despite the power play, young Slovaks conceded two goals during Sarkenov’s expulsion at the end of the match, and their triumph was then decided by defender Maxim Štrbák in overtime.
