On Tuesday, a meritorious zoologist and animal ecologist, long-time former director of the Tallinn Zoo, Mati Kaal, visited the Haapsalu social house.
Always known as a gentle and interesting storyteller, Kaal was the director of Tallinn Zoo for 41 years (1975–2016). In this regard, the whole world gives him an equal to look for. Currently, the 78-year-old scientist is retired, but still very busy. Although Kaal has been away from the zoo for eight years, the older residents recognize him and greet him in their own way as soon as the former director walks through the gate.
