In an era where music and social media are increasingly intertwined, Instagram and Spotify have decided to collaborate to change the way users discover and save new music.

We all have moments when we scroll through our Instagram feed, see a clip with a song that tickles our ears and want to listen to it during our lunch break or when we get back from work and have some free time.
Until now, the process of finding and saving a song to your Spotify library was cumbersome: you had to exit the app, open Spotify, and manually search for the song.
collaboration of these two platforms wants to simplify the whole process. With just a few taps, we’ll be able to add any song we like directly to the “Liked Songs” playlist in Spotify. And we won’t have to leave Instagram to do it.
How it works
The process is very simple. When we see a post or Story on Instagram that contains a certain song, we can tap the name of the song that appears in the corner of the screen.
We will then be directed to an audio preview page, where we will find a new “Add” button next to the playback bar. Click on it and that’s it: the song is now part of our audio library.

The competition for users’ attention in the digital music space is fiercer than ever. TikTok already offers a similar feature, allowing songs to be added not only to Spotify, but also to Amazon Music and Apple Music.

Spotify and Instagram don’t stop there. The developers are already working on new features, such as the ability to share in real time what we listen to on Spotify directly on the Instagram profile.
Availability
The feature to add songs from Instagram to Spotify is now available globally and users are advised to have the latest versions of both apps installed to take advantage of the new option.
