THE ISLAND OF KAPRI IN 400 PICTURES: Expensive, more expensive, KAPRI (but not ice cream)

The fashionable summer resort where the world’s biggest stars have stayed and where the richest people on the planet own their vacation homes and apartments in luxury hotels, is visited daily by thousands of people who rise like rivers by cable car and flow down the cliffs and narrow streets of this volcanic gem in the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Located close to lively Naples, it represents its true simplicity. It is interesting that two such different worlds are only less than an hour away from each other by ferry or catamaran. It can also be done by speedboat or yacht if they are available to you.

Due to the huge amount of tourists that you will encounter at every step, it will be difficult to enjoy its beauty fully. Forget about the picture where there will be no one but you. Unless you photoshop it.

Half a day is enough for you to tour the entire island as a tourist, and if you stay the whole day, you will have time to spend some time on the beach and get your feet wet in the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Fill the bottle to the top when you go to Capri. The reason is simple – you can’t eat and drink anything cheap on Capri – the cheapest espresso is 6 euros, and a Capri salad is 18 euros – but how can I go to Capri without eating a Capri salad?! And mozzarella in Italy is served in bombastic balls… well, it’s a sweet life!

As far as shopping is concerned, the situation is similar – a dress that costs 22 euros in Rome costs 50 euros on Capri. Although, such are very difficult to find. Maybe only in a few boutiques in the lower town. In the upper town, boutiques of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses line up one after the other. Those who are not on Capri do not exist in the fashion world.

From the terrace on the roof of a prestigious hotel, where the cheapest cocktail is 20 euros, although an espresso is only seven, which compared to a nonsensical cafe at the foot of a city-like cafe in a “normal” city, it is quite an acceptable price, it is difficult to count the yachts studded next to each other islands. And each one bigger than the other…

The only decent price is for a circular boat tour around the ten square kilometer island – 21 euros for an hour and a half of quality time. To go to the blue cave you have to pay about the same. Also a good investment and a nice trip. A little taste of salt on your hair and lips to remain, even though the familiar smell of the Tyrrhenian Sea is not there. At least I didn’t feel it.

In any case, Capri is unique only because of its fashionable label, and that, in my opinion, is the only essential reason why one should visit it – Capri must be visited once in a lifetime. Everything else is much more beautiful to be found on many Greek islands. Admittedly, hardly more expensive, but if you want to be a part of the fashionable world at least for a moment, the ticket has its price and must be paid. Pay or leave. Well, I’ll pay, once in a lifetime you go to Capri!
