“Serbia and the EU – Equipment for the Economy” program: The key to improving the technological development of Serbian companies
The “Serbia and EU – Equipment for the Economy” program, one of the leading initiatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Serbia and the Development Agency of Serbia, has been providing significant support to domestic companies in strengthening their technological capacities for more than ten years. Launched in 2013, this program, with the support of the European Union, was further improved in 2022 and 2023, thus becoming a key resource for economic progress.
Through grants in the amount of 26.9 million euros, more than 1,200 business entities throughout Serbia had the opportunity to modernize their operations, improve production processes and become more competitive both on the domestic and international markets.
One of the successful users of this program is the company “4M special tools”, which deals with metal processing and supply to many multinational companies. Milorad Četnik, the director of this family company, which today employs 60 workers, emphasizes that with the help of funds from the “Serbia and EU – Equipment for the Economy” Program, he successfully implemented solar panels, which brought multiple benefits to the company.

“The solar panels we installed in hall 4M reduced our electricity costs by 20%. What was very important for us was to contribute to environmental sustainability, as well as to reduce carbon dioxide emissions,” Četnik points out.
The program “Serbia and the EU – Equipment for the Economy” enables businessmen to co-finance the purchase of new production equipment, which directly affects the improvement of their productivity.
