The new Lancia Ypsilon It debuted a few months ago and represented an epochal revolution, growing in size and becoming (also) electric. For her, the innovations are destined to continue in 2025 with the debut of the sports version – characterised by the acronym HF – to position itself at the top of the range.
All details that we already knew, enriched today by the news that the Lancia Ypsilon HF It will not have 240 HP as announced a few months ago, but 280. Exactly like the Alfa Romeo Junior Fastwith which the little Lancia shares the mechanics.
Team play
It was easy to imagine that an increase in power would come to the Lancia Ypsilon HF, especially in light of what the Alfa men did on the most powerful version of the Junior. On the other hand, using the same platform – the CMP of PSA origin – and being part of the same Group, why not exploit the work of a brand to give something more to the Ypsilon in a sporty way?
Developed also thanks to the collaboration with Miki Biasion, a driver who linked his name to that of Lancia, with which he won the Rally championship in 1988 and 1989, the racing Ypsilon is powered by the 1.2 3-cylinder 212 HP engine and was the protagonist of a first exceptional test drive. In fact, Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, ran it on the Balocco circuit. Also present for the occasion was Luca Napolitano, number one at Lancia, who set an appointment for the weekend of October 24 and 25 for further news on the sporty Ypsilon.
