If in any car the focus is on the driver, then it is the latest Ferrari. Unlike the McLaren F1 whose author Andy Murray promoted the 1+2 seating concept, Ferrari went with the idea of total minimization. And that meant the impossibility of sharing the pleasure of driving with a passenger.
This was confirmed to Top Gear by Ferrari’s head of design, Flavio Manzoni, saying that the F80 was initially intended to be a single-seater. This would lead to an ultra-narrow cabin and the creation of “very radical proportions”. However, the choice of a V6 engine and some other solutions eventually made it possible to install an additional seat, reports Index.hr.
How important the driver is to Ferrari is confirmed by the photos of the car’s interior, where the front passenger’s seat is made in black. The passenger’s seat has been moved back, thus reducing the width of the cabin.
Let’s remind you, by using carbon in Ferrari, they managed to keep the weight of the vehicle at an excellent 1525 kg.
