Canon has announced the latest model of the ultra-compact Selphy photo printer series, the CP1300, which allows you to easily and quickly print photos in less than a minute via Wi-Fi directly from an Apple iOS and Android smartphone, tablet or digital camera, or a built-in Thanks to its SD slot, it can be used directly from a memory card – but of course it is also equipped with a traditional USB, so direct printing from a PC is not an obstacle either. An optionally available, high-capacity battery unit can be connected to the side of the printer, which means that the printer can also be used in the absence of mains power, so it can be used on the road for approximately 54 images. To make it easier to use, the device was equipped with a tiltable 3.2″ i.e. 8.1 centimeter touchscreen.

The device uses dye sublimation thermal printing technology, operates with CMY colors, maximum resolution 300×300 dpi, color depth 24 bits. With the push of a button, the user can choose between glossy and three semi-gloss finishes without the need to change either paper or ink. Prints are made in 47 seconds in postcard size and 27 seconds in smaller format, the durability and integrity of which is guaranteed by the chosen coating.

Before printing, the software can be used to improve the quality of photos with several image enhancement mechanisms: it automatically recognizes the subject and background of the images, removes image noise, etc. In addition, it offers many other services, such as an ID photo creation function with a cropping pattern function, which makes it easy to precisely cut out printed ID photos, a montage of eight photos, greeting card creation, business card-sized stickers, as well as Instagram-like square format images that can also be applied filters can be drawn, making them look like they were taken in a traditional ID photo machine.
