The Russian Orthodox Church has removed Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfejev) from the head of the Diocese of Budapest and Hungary, and he will be transferred to Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, where he will serve in the Church of St. Peter and Paul. New leaders are appointed to head the diocese of Budapest and Hungary, reports a Novaya Gazeta based on the Telex.
For a long time, Hilarion was the second man in the leadership of the church in Moscow, he was referred to as the right-hand man of Patriarch Kirill. The Russian Orthodox Church launched an investigation against him this summer, during which he was suspended and stripped of his duties in July this year.

The dark affairs of the ecclesiastical dignity also came to light at this time. He was accused of sexual harassment by an 18-year-old Russian-Japanese man, Georgy Suzuki, who previously worked alongside him as a minister. His victim is also immaculate: this spring, as a personal assistant, he stole a large amount of cash and other valuables from the building of the Hungarian Orthodox Diocese in Budapest.
