Leapmotor will present at the Brussels Motor Show 2025, taking place from 10 to 19 January 2025, the C10 REEV (Range Extender Electric Vehicle), or the electric version with range extender of its compact SUV.
With this system, which promises up to 950 km of combined overall autonomy, the Chinese brand follows in the footsteps of other Asian manufacturers to combine the advantages of electric traction with the flexibility offered by an internal combustion engine. Here are the first details.
How it’s made
To talk about the Leapmotor C10 REEV, let’s first start with the most important part, namely the mechanics. The traction motor is a 158 kW (215 HP) electric one, a handful of horsepower less than the 218 HP of the purely electric version.
A battery is used to power it 28,4 kWh of capacity – less than half compared to the 69.9 kWh of the C10 on the market – capable of guaranteeing autonomy in electric mode of 145 km (WLTP), but which can also be recharged on the move by an internal combustion engine if necessary 1.5 literswhich does not directly drive the wheels, but acts as a generator.
As anticipated, according to Leapmotor, the new REEV system allows for an overall autonomy of over 950 kmwith declared consumption of 0.4 l/100 km and CO₂ emissions of 10 g/km in the WLTP combined cycle.

Range extender technology with DC charging
As always happens on cars with range extenderunlike a traditional hybrid car, the combustion engine of the C10 REEV comes into play exclusively for generate electricitymaintaining the battery charge and allowing the electric motor to continue moving the wheels.
The real peculiarity of the C10 lies in the possibility of recharging the batteries also via wallbox or column, both in alternating and direct current, up to a maximum power of 65 kWa value which, according to the company, allows you to restore 50% of the battery life in 18 minutes.
