The LG Tandem OLED display may arrive in notebooks

The Koreans have begun mass-producing 13-inch panels that offer higher brightness and longer life.

LG has started mass production of 13″ Tandem OLED displays intended for notebook computers. The technology that first appeared in automobiles, then, for example, Apple iPad in Pro was also able to present itself, compared to traditional OLEDs, it is advantageous in terms of the higher brightness that can be obtained from a unit of power, as well as the longer service life. As the name suggests, in contrast to the traditional solution, several OLED “layers” are placed on top of each other. Their favorable properties can be seen primarily in mobile devices that are used a lot, since they also have lower consumption for a given brightness (according to LG, savings of up to 40% can be achieved).
