Booklet A loses (a little) its appeal. From February 1, 2025, his remuneration rate will increase to 2.4%, 0.6 points less than currently. That of the Popular Savings Booklet (LEP), intended for the most modest households, will increase from 4% to 3.5%. The government is thus following the recommendations made earlier in the day by the Banque de France.
After a historic low of 0.5% in 2020, the rate of remuneration of the Livret A, the calculation formula of which is based on the inflation rate, gradually increased to 3% in 2024.

The upcoming rate of 2.4% for Livret A reflects the “reflux of inflation and refinancing rates” but it remains “still significantly higher than inflation”, the governor of the Bank of France argued on Wednesday , François Villeroy de Galhau during a hearing before the Senate Finance Committee.
For LEP, the rate of 3.5% is “significantly above the mechanical formula at 2.9%”, he added.
