According to the official definition, an economically significant organization must have “substantial importance for the economic sovereignty and security of Russia in the economic sphere.” But there are a number of other requirements: the volume of revenue is more than 75 billion rubles, the value of assets is at least 150 billion rubles, the share of Russian beneficiaries is over 50% and the number of jobs is 4 thousand people or more.
These parameters correspond, for example, to AB Holding (the parent company of Alfa Bank), UNS Holding (beneficiary of Alfastrakhovanie), and Corporate Center X 5 (part of the X5 Group, which was already included in the list). retail chains “Perekrestok”, “Pyaterochka”, “Chizhik”), “City Supermarket” (which owns the hypermarkets “Azbuka” taste”), “Akron Group” (a major shareholder of the fertilizer manufacturer “Akron”), “Razrez Arshanovsky” (developing coal mining in Khakassia), Nevsky Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant, trading company “Megapolis” and “Highland Gold”.
In general, ESO usually includes subjects of critical information infrastructure, systemically important credit organizations, city-forming organizations, companies that create highly productive and highly paid jobs and provide services in the IT field.
