The last six games of the opening round of the new format Champions League are played tonight, with AS Monaco v Barcelona as the headliner.
Running over three days, the first leg of the new Champions League format comes to an end today with the final six matches taking place.
AS Monaco – Barcelona is the most interesting match on the last day of the debut stage of the Champions League
Arsenal, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are just three of the teams set to perform tonight in the final matches of the first leg of the Champions League. All matches can be watched Live Video Online on www.prosport.ro. Also, on the small screen, the matches will be broadcast by the channels Digi Sport and Prima Sport.
From this season, the most important continental competition at club team level has a new format.
All 36 teams are in the same “group”, but each team will play eight matches. At the end, a general ranking will be made, and the first eight will move on. The teams from 9th to 24th place will fight for the other places in the last 16. Those from 25th and below will leave the European cups.
The match of the evening is AS Monaco – Barcelona. At first glance, the away team is the favorite. With five wins in as many stages in La Liga, the team trained by German Hansi Flick wants to continue the excellent form they are going through.
The group from the Principality, also unbeaten in the championship with three wins and a draw, has reason to fear: Barcelona scored no less than 17 times, which means an average of at least three goals per game.
