The maximum speed on these four routes may increase to 130 km/h

Minister Madlener is investigating whether the maximum speed on four ‘promising’ stretches of highway can be returned to 130 kilometers per hour. He wrote this in a letter to the House of Representatives. This concerns the A7 on the Afsluitdijk, the A7 between Zuidbroek and the German border, the A37 between the Holsloot junction and Zwartemeer and the A6 between Lelystad Noord and the Ketelbrug. It is not yet certain whether the maximum speed on those four routes can actually be increased to 130 kilometers per hour, Madlener writes. The next step is an “exploratory study” into the consequences for nitrogen deposition on protected nature. The minister hopes that he can make a decision early next year.
