The lobby of the Cultural Center hosts the exhibition ReHabilitem of the Diputació de Barcelona which aims to promote the culture of building rehabilitation among citizens. The mayor of Martorell, Xavier Fonollosa, and the Technician of the Housing Office of the Barcelona Provincial Council, Marta Pradal, visited the interactive installation on Tuesday, which can be seen throughout the month of July. They were accompanied by councilors from Soledad Rosende Education; of Childhood and Adolescence Belén Leiva; of Sports Gerard Mimó and of Urban Services and Public Way Elisabet Plaza.
ReHabilitem wants to make known the advantages of building maintenance, as well as adapting them to current comfort and energy saving needs. It is a “sensory and interactive exhibition that answers questions such as what it is and why it is necessary to rehabilitate, how it should be done, or what aids are available to do it”, explained Fonollosa. The mayor added that “the people who visit it will be able to know if their house needs reforms based on a series of questions that are posed to them. One of the sections of the exhibition that I really like is the one that makes sure that one of the best investments you can make is to make renovations at home so that you can be comfortable and live in complete comfort.”

With positive messages and clear and accessible information, the exhibition helps overcome the perceived barriers that make it difficult to get involved in a rehabilitation project, from fear of bureaucracy to mistrust of professionals. The exhibition shows the benefits that come with the rehabilitation of buildings, both in the private sphere and also at the collective level, through two panels with useful information for citizens, as well as for professionals in the sector and other agents who participate in the rehabilitation process.
The mayor pointed out that “one of the panels guides the visitor on how to obtain aid from the different administrations or the agreements with financial entities for soft loans to face a major remodeling of the house. It’s a good time to visit the exhibition and find out about it.”

ReHabilitem it is itinerant with the purpose of giving instruments to citizens and facilitating the municipalities in their task of raising awareness. Throughout July you can visit it in the lobby of the Cultural Center of Martorell.
