Toyota Romania and the Romanian Olympic Sports Committee awarded yesterday at the “110 years of Olympism in Romania” Gala organized by the Romanian Olympic Sports Committee the outstanding performances of medal-winning athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, giving each of them a Toyota Hybrid car.
Toyota Romania and the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee rewarded the performances of medal-winning athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with a Toyota car each.
“It is an honor and a joy for me to be here today with you at this special moment of recognition of the performance, passion and dedication shown by our athletes. Today we celebrate not only their extraordinary results, but also the over seven-year collaboration between Toyota Romania and the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee, an organization of remarkable importance, with a 110-year history of supporting Romanian sports. We also decided to give a special prize to gymnast Sabrina Voinea Maneca, as a sign of support and appreciation for her outstanding performance, even in the conditions of unfavorable evaluation from the Olympic final”, said Edit Târcolea, General Manager of Toyota Romania.
What cars did the medal athletes get?
The athletes with two medals, including David Popovici (swimming, gold and bronze) and rowers Simona Radiș, Ancuța Bodnar, Roxana Anghel and Ioana Vrînceanu (gold and silver in rowing), each received a Toyota C-HR Hybrid model.
The gold medal athletes, including Florin Enache, Andrei Cornea, Maria Lehaci, Adriana Adam, Magdalena Rusu, Amalia Bereș and Victoria Petreanu (rowing), were rewarded with Toyota Corolla Sedan Hybrid.
For the silver medalists, Ionela Cozmiuc and Gianina van Groningen (rowing), together with Mihaela Cambei (weightlifting), Toyota Romania offered a Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid, and gymnast Ana Maria Barbosu, bronze medalist, received a Toyota Yaris Hybrid. In a special gesture of recognition, COSR and Toyota Romania awarded gymnast Sabrina Voinea Maneca a Toyota Yaris Hybrid model. The decision comes after a re-evaluation showed that she was disadvantaged by the referee in the Olympic floor final, the award being an appreciation of her talent and determination.
Also, the medalists of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will also receive Toyota Hybrid cars. Alex Bologa, champion in para judo, will be awarded with a Toyota Corolla Sedan Hybrid, and Camelia Ciripan, bronze medalist in table tennis, will be awarded with a Toyota Yaris Hybrid.
