The Hungarian men’s water polo team lost 10-7 to Spain at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday, in the second round of the group stage. It’s okay, we didn’t necessarily have to win this game, but things didn’t go well in attack after the long break.

The Spaniards brought the ball and – after mutual misses – took the lead. After the missed Hungarian advantage, they also scored their second goal, the beautiful goal came three seconds before the end of the quarter: Manhercz’s ball was pulled into the net by Angyal (2-1).

The beginning of the second half was also characterized by missed chances, until Vigvári outsmarted his future teammate from Barcelona, ​​the goalkeeper Unai Aguirre, and put a nice shot over him into the long corner. The Spaniards responded with an advantage, Zalánki equalized from the same position. However, the opponent regained the lead from a corner, with only one second left, when Larumbe Gonfaus bombed the goal (4-3).

In the third quarter, the Spaniards brought the ball again and ended the attack with a goal, Munarriz scored his second goal. Angyal also doubled, after another draw, the goal was awarded after video. Granados increased the advantage first from a penalty, then from a quick attack, and then Zsolt Varga asked for time. As a result, Vámos scored a nice goal, then after a lot of wrestling, Fekete scored from the center. On the other side, De Toro, who transferred to Ferencváros, immediately sold a man advantage (8-6).

The last quarter started with a Spanish center goal, then Manhercz cut the ball into Aguirre’s goal. After a Spanish timeout, Larumbe scored from a forced position under the hands of Vogel, making the final score 10-7.
